MORE INFO:
Filminvest is an investment fund for audiovisual production in the Trøndelag and Innlandet regions. Filminvest is owned by the county municipalities of Trøndelag and Innlandet as well as the municipalities of Trondheim and Lillehammer. The company was established in 2016 (following a consolidation between Filminvest Midt-Norge and Film3) to develop the focus on feature films, drama series and games in the region.
Filminvest's subsidiary company, Filminvest IS, offers public and private investors the opportunity to enter a portfolio of productions, or to select individual productions they wish to invest in. Filminvest is a member of FilmReg and Cine-Regio.
The film industry in the region has shown rapid development over the past 10 years. Companies are growing, showing economic growth and developing projects that win awards, participate in festivals and are shown worldwide.
The region's gaming companies have a strong position in the Norwegian gaming industry. Several of the companies have gathered in work collectives such as Hamar Game Collective and Work Work in Trondheim.
Filminvest works continuously with the development of the region's audiovisual industry through advisory services, and by ensuring that the fund grows and can offer help with financing projects with strong regional connections.
Filminvest has two employees distributed across two full-time positions in addition to engaged expertise. The company is led by Arild Halvorsen, with Mari Nørstegård Tomren as production and information advisor. Are Sundnes is engaged as a consultant for games and Peder Hamdahl Næss is engaged as a consultant for film and series.
