Grzegorz Wacławek is a prominent Polish animation producer, director, and screenwriter who has significantly shaped the landscape of contemporary Polish animation. Born in 1980, he studied at the Wojciech Gerson Fine Arts High School in Warsaw, the Łódź Film School, and the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.


Wacławek began his career creating acclaimed short animated films, including Leaf (2005), Gleam (2006), Scrap (2007), Lost (2008), Beyond Senility (2010), and The Courtyard (2016), which garnered recognition both domestically and internationally.

In 2013, he founded Animoon, a production studio specializing in animated films and series for children and adults. Under his leadership, Animoon has produced over 480 animated works that have collectively won more than 250 awards worldwide. The studio's notable productions include the feature-length animated film Even Mice Belong in Heaven (2021), created in collaboration with Czech, French, and Slovakian co-producers.


As a key figure in the Polish animation industry, Wacławek co-founded and served as president of the Polish Animation Producers Association (2014-2016), working to strengthen Polish animation's presence nationally and internationally. He is also a member of the Polish Producers Guild.


His contributions have been widely recognized with prestigious awards, including the 2022 Cartoon Tributes Award for European Producer of the Year and the Platinum Goats Award for outstanding contribution to contemporary Polish animation for children. In 2017, he received a screenwriting fellowship from the Polish Film Institute for his feature project The Boy at the Edge of the World, and since 2025, he has served as an expert evaluator for PISF's screenwriting fellowship program.
