Anita Killi's films get dedicated screening day at prestigious festival
DOVRE/TOKYO, 2nd of September 2025 – Trollfilm AS with director Anita Killi and producer Claus Gladyszak have been invited to participate in the 32nd KINEKO International Film Festival in Tokyo, Asia's largest film festival for children. The festival takes place October 31st to November 4th, 2025.
Killi's two films "Hedge of Thorns" (2001) and "Angry Man" (2009) will have a dedicated screening day on the 3rd of November, where the director will also deliver a keynote about her work with the films. Particularly noteworthy is that "Hedge of Thorns" has been screened annually at KINEKO since its release year in 2001 – a rare recognition for an international filmmaker.

Exclusive workshop and new film presentation
In addition to the film screening, Killi will conduct an exclusive animation workshop for 10 specially invited and motivated children. During the Tokyo visit, Trollfilm will also present their upcoming feature film project "Christmas Survivors" – a stop-motion animation film being developed as an international co-production.
"Hedge of Thorns" and "Angry Man" have achieved international recognition for their unique treatment of difficult themes such as war trauma and domestic violence. The films are actively used in therapeutic settings and are screened annually at film festivals worldwide.
KINEKO International Film Festival is one of Asia's most prestigious platforms for children's cinema and brings together filmmakers, distributors, and industry professionals from around the world. More info about the festival can be found here.
